Maobab Adventure

TertiaryRenovation

We had the opportunity to design the future offices of Maobi, a responsible innovation agency, with a key objective: eco-design and eco-construction. To achieve this, we assisted them in the renovation of an old Croix-Rouge building in Lyon 03 to create "Maobab", a workplace that highlights three core values: Environment + Commitment + Humanity.

We are convinced that we, as architects and interior architects, must initiate a more responsible and committed conceptual and construction approach. This is what we have done with the "Maobab" project in Lyon.

The project

The comfort

The user was placed at the heart of this project, with spaces designed to be modular and adaptable to various uses. Nature was brought indoors to provide comfort and well-being for the users, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.

The eco-construction

At the Atelier Emmaüs and the Fabrique Biz, the introduction to fabrication is open to the most vulnerable. Committed designers and passionate craftsmen serve as the key elements in this framework. The wooden structures were produced by these two companies using reclaimed materials and natural finishes. The Petit Pierre workshop, on the other hand, provided technical expertise for the creation of the custom-made, colorful staircase with dynamic lines.

The mission

The support from the Sequoia Engineering & Environment study office was the starting point for designing this project, both in terms of spatial planning and technical and energy aspects. It is thanks to their recommendations that we were able to successfully complete the project, and that Metiista, a wonderful mission-driven company, was able to carry out the finishing work.
